A kleinkind is a grandchild. The term literally translates to “small child.” A kleinkind can be a kleindochter (granddaughter) or kleinzoon (grandson).

I love that photo! You can never get all the kids to behave or smile at the same time. My sister-in-law sends me a photo of her grandchildren in a group at least twice a year. There is always at least one that isn’t looking at the camera or is goofing around but I love them because you can get a glimpse of their personality.
