Happy New Year everybody!
I’ll be starting the year with a great bang, since I will be heading off to Salt Lake City later this week to attend the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. I will be taking part in the Advance Evidence Practicum, a hands-on training in solving the hardest puzzles. I will also be attending the Board meeting of the Association of Professional Genealogists and doing some research for my portfolio for the Board for Certification of Genealogists.
I’ll be flying in on 7 January and will leave on 19 January and will arrive home on the 20th. I’ve scheduled blog posts to appear over the next few weeks so my blog (and readers!) won’t feel too neglected, but it may take a while for me to respond to comments or inquiries.
If any of you happen to be in Salt Lake City too, please come and introduce myself. I would love to meet you in person.
Thank you for the wonderful website. I look forward to all the inspired articles and information. Enjoy your trip to Salt Lake City. Sorry, I live in New York, so can’t say hello in person. A very Happy New Year to you and thank you again.
Oh, my God!!! Just look at the leg room on that plane!
I bet those people didn’t feel like a pretzel when they landed! The last time I flew coach, I physically could not fit my legs between my seat and the one in front of me, even at an angle, so had to have my legs up and my feet dangling the whole flight (charming, I’m sure). Luckily that was just to Dublin, a mere three hours, but I’m not risking that for the 15-hour-flight to Salt Lake so I upgraded my seat 🙂 And I’m not even that tall, just 5’9″.
That’s why I never fly coach. Won’t fit…
Hi Yvette, Sure wish I could be at the SLIG this week. Your Webinar was wonderful and reinforced many things you shared when researching my ancestor, Teunis Nyssen. Although only 8 descendants, his children/descendants married into many Dutch families of those who immigrated in the 1620-60 time period so trees are numerous that connect to him. The best advice from you is to “source”/ document information rather than just copy from others and assume accurate. The number in people in a tree isn’t as important as the quality of the records. Enjoy your visit to Salt Lake!
