Yvette, would you please explain the term “Trouwe met de handschoon”, I have not found the term on your web site anywhere, and a great site it is. Also I have no idea where the surname Fekkes originated, any history or meaning behind it. Thanks.

    • I will write a “Term of the week” article about “trouwen met de handschoen.” My own great-aunt was “getrouwd met de handschoen” so I know exactly what it means. I don’t know where the surname Fekkes originated.
